yeah yeah i've left all that shizzle, but i'm annoyed, and no-one i talked to can help me and i know one of you lot will be able to
just got orange box on PC
now portal and TF2 wont load and says this
'requires minimum of DirectX 8.0 to run' so i downloaded 8.0 still happened, downloaded 9.0, still happened help plox

I'm currently playing:
whats your PC spec o check steam help that my help
but i had the prob with star war empire at wat corruption were it kept asking me to install dircetx 9.0c which i had but i never got it to work.

damn, cause its the three new games that need this and i really wanna play portal and TF2, then HL2:E2 when i get round to finishing the first two HL2

Portal is awesome. I thought i was going to hate it because it didn't involve gun battles and stuff but turns out i love it. The game is just total genius.

I'm currently playing:
To check what graphics card your system has.
Go to Control Panel, then System and work your way from there!

thanks found a site and now need a cheap new graphics card that has liek minimum 128mb, supports DX 8 and stuffs
any recomendations, under 100 quid prefferably

You mean you have a GFX card that is less than 128MB, doesn't support DX8 and you expected it to play HL2?

I'm currently playing:
heres an direcetX 9 card
G card there some other on that websites to but the 7600GS is a good midrange DX9 card
Cheap G card this is also a DX9 card but a low end one but it's pretty cheap
but what is the spec of your PC as you might be better off paying a new one
