Why the console market is so difficult to predict!

As we all know Nintendo Wiis are now becoming like gold dust and as such the prices to buy Wiis now is growing and growing the closer we get to Christmas.
Ironically it is now more expensive to get hold of a Wii:
Wii with 5 games - £339.99 Than it is an Xbox 360:
360 Elite plus 3 games and extra wireless controller - £329.99 360 Premium plus 2 games and extra wireless controller - £249.99 And similar to a PS3:
PS3 40GB + 3 games - £349.99 Now admittedly this isn't a rigourous pricing search exercise, it is merely the prices GAME are quoting at the moment.
Note The only way you can buy a Wii at game now is with that bundle, so even though you get more games, you have no choice.
Its an interesting situation we're in especially when not long ago the rationale for the success of the Wii was mainly attributed to its low price point. Similarly the non-success associated with the PS3 was due to its high price point.
What are your thoughts?

If Nintendo can still outsell it's competitors at a similar price tag, it'll prove that it is a more popular console not just because it's cheap.
But if you buy a Wii, is it any five games. Cos I would definetely get the Wii if you could get it with TLOZ:TP, SMG, MP3, Resi 4 and Wii Play (For the extra Wiimote),
instead of a 360 with just 3 games.

As I said, it was just a brief look online at current deals at game.co.uk, nothing thorough.
Does no-one find this interesting?

What I'd like to know is how much profit each company has made since the releases of their consoles.

its mostly because Wiis are in high demand the prices have rocketed up every where Argos went from about 250 quid up to 350 quid in about 3 days because of the demand on them it shocking that comapnys can do this but if u want one u would pay anything to get one

I agree, its all supply and demand, but do you not find it odd that the very reason people have cited for the PS3's failure is it high price point (despite the fact that in real monetary terms its an absolute bargain). Now that the Wii is now going for a lot more its interesting the popularity hasn't waned towards other consoles.
I certainly wouldn't have predicted that Wiis would be more expensive than 360s and on par with PS3s this Christmas a year ago.
It means that essentially people believe there is the same value in monetary terms in a Wii than there is in a PS3.
The mind boggles I tell thee.
