I know that at the end of halo 3 there is a memorial service and they talk about someone dead and master chiefs number is scratched in but on legendary mode at the end it shows master chief safe in he ship going home. It is confusing. I have also found out that there is a halo 4 possibility but if he is dead then what is the point. It said he was dead but is he?

I would give you an answer but since Bungie didn't seem to realise that some people hadn't played Halo 1&2 I can't actually tell you what the hell happened in Halo 3...at all. Like any second of it. I simply don't have a clue!

yes he died he was r**ed by the flood things who vomit on him and r**ed end of story
