hey guys.
i have loooong been a manager game player. from 99-00 version perhaps. been there done that.
in 2008 football manager, why does it seem like my defenders wont challenge for the ball? either ground or aerial challenge. imagine 4 world class defenders just surrounding one lousy midfielder w/o anyone tackling him?? the defenders run away from the opponents. closing down, mental, creavity, tried sliding them all up and down with no avail. they still wont tackle.
seriously ive never been in such situations in the other older versions. but thanks to Buffon, i still managed to win Serie A in my first game, first season with Juventus.

So how do u no there not tackling hmmm.
It takes time for a team to gell, if you buy too many new players the team wont play well for a few games so maybe its just a "gelling process

Are you playing with the new patch? This is a bug in the original, players won't close down properly. Just download the newest patch and its fixed.

haha. its the second season already. the player gel great. the attack is great. i won the italian cup and the serie A. just the defense is relying too much on buffon. in fact in the commentary, i've never seen the word ''tackle'' at all!

Buy Van Den Borre off of Florentina. young, reliable and scores a few. can play all over defence and midfield. 7.5 million at start of the game.

i have per mertesacker and raul albiol in my defence with degen and n'zogbia
