Coincidence? PS3 Problems

Well after 5 or 6 days after CrazyD loses his PS3 guess whats gone and happened
Get Fifa 09 play it for 3 hours then i was out for rest of day so didnt get to play it anymore
i slepped in saturday mornng
then played Fifa for 2 more hours
then at about 7 o clock i go on to play again and while its loading up a match my PS3 goes and turns off.
I was like wth so i turned it back on and 3 seconds later it turns itself off
the green light goes yellow then starts blinking red
so i thought well it must be overheated or something
so i leave it until just know
tried again and it lasted 10 seconds before turning off
its not overheated cuz i hardly been on it much
i think im gonna have to be calling sony
luckily i had enough time to get my disc out of the PS3 before it died again lol
not very happy though since ive only had it one andf a half years

All i can do is laugh
You never know all Ps3's around the world might start breaking

as in turning it self off and yellow lights and all

what you've got has been nicknamed PS3 yellow light of doom or blinking light of death...

You Aint the only one <-- this guy only had his PS3 for 4hrs...

Doesn't the PS3 only have a 1 year warranty? In which case...you're screwed.

i have a wii but its very boring
also i dont know my exact warranty lol
it just might be 2 years according to some random guy but i think its just one year
also i cant find sonys number lol

I recommend putting a game in the slot, and getting over the fact its not HD.

Surely online Mariokart and SSBB can "keep you going" until your wonder console gets fixed?

yeah im getting a free ps3 on wednesday so its all good
lose all my save games though but meh
try putting a game in the slot and not making a big deal bout the graphics?
i got nothing against how the wii doesnt have the graphics of the ps3 or 360
i just find the games that are out at the moment to be boring after like a week of playing them
i played mario galazxy for a while and even though i got every star available it was too repetetiver so i never played again
and wii fit is just too much work lol

i couldn't care less about graphics but they wiis array of games is undoubtedly very poor. and the game that i enjoyed most is ironically a last gen port (RE4). also wii fit is super fun when drunk

Meh, I find myself having the same argument with people throughout every console generation. I personally choose quality over quantity. I can't afford to buy 100s of games (well I can but I'd never have enough time to play them) so I never think a massive games library is necessarily a massive plus for a console.

At the end of the day there's a very good reason why I stick with Nintendo, its their quality of games. Metroid, Mario, Zelda, Mariokart, Smash Bros are always of an incredibly high quality despite their numerous iterations. And I know the only console I'll find them on is a Nintendo one. Quality and Innovation is what has made Nintendo the powerhouse in gaming for the past 20 odd years and that isn't about to change any time soon. Sure I'd wish 3rd parties would start contributing a bit more, but believe me I know that I'm guaranteed some excellent gaming experiences with a Nintendo machine, and tbh, I would never want to give them up just so I could play Halo or have a better online experience or better graphics. Its the reason I still find myself playing old Gamecube games (or sometimes older) because they are classics of quality even nowadays.

ive got a few games, play em and then like just really cannot be arsed to wave my arms around

i'd rather whack on the 360 and play Test Drive or PGR4
