Where do I find this chest? I know it's in the desert but is it buried, or just found by wandering around?

Have you got a metal detector? if you havent go and buy one in the shops. then go out in the desert turn left and there is an oasis walk to the back of it by the wall get your detector out there, then you've got it!!
