Here's what happened when I did that
Friday
13:00 heatwaves and mist come off the ground
15:00 windstorm noises start
15:30 windstorm in full effect, rumbling noise in the background
17:30 died out completely
22:00 heard crickets for 30 seconds, that was kinda funny.
00:00 nothing
saturday
11:00 heat waves & mist again
13:00 wind kicks in, same rumbling as friday
13:30 windstorm in full effect, seemed a little louder.
16:50 died out, it was a longer one than friday.
20:00 another storm starts
20:30 in full effect and rumbling.
22:50 died out
00:00 nothing.
hung till 3:00 & bailed
Now what this tells me is that occasionally there's a big rumbly windstorm in the ghost-town at midnight. The kinda folks who hang out in ghost-towns at midnight would assume that the rumbling noise was ghosts, especially on a foggy night even though it's just a windstorm, the rumbling really does sound like hooves when the audio is so loud my neighbors could probably hear C.J.'s stomach growling.
I'm not done looking & listening yet, there's more to it in my head than just the ghost-town but I am not as hopeful as I was, If anything we can disprove this myth conclusively which would be fine too.
