i have the psp one but would it be worthwhile to get the ps2 version

I'm not getting it, I had a look at the mission walkthrough for it and the missons are pretty much the same as on the PSP version. Save your money and use it on something else.

I'm currently playing:
if you have a psp id definately get it for that, but it really isnt built for the ps2.
on the other hand if you dont have a psp then get it for ps2. either way you need to play it if your a gta fanboy like me.

If you've gor the PSP version don't bother. THE PS2 version is really just a port of the one you've got. Minus the multiplayer games!

liberty city stories is worth buying on PS2 especially if you don't have a psp i don't have a psp because they are so expensive so when i heard it was coming to PS2 like i always knew it would eventually i decided to get it.
so if you don't have a psp go get it for PS2
