Just spotted this on ClubSkill:
Today, THQ announced that they have cancelled the Playstation 3 version of the next title in the hit wrestling series WWE Smackdown! vs. RAW. The 2007 version, which now is only under development for the Xbox 360, PS2, and PSP, will not grace the PS3 library, as the company wants to "concentrate resources on the other three platforms." THQ supposedly started their development on the PS3 version several months later than the other console versions, which may explain their decision: the game may not have been able to fit thei deadlines, or they may not have been able to adapt to the new hardware in time.
Thus far, THQ has only given this announcement through their German forums (translated), and has yet to send an official press release.
From the THQ German forum (excuse the bad translation:
WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2007 is not published probably on PS3: the title comes for PlayStation 2, PSP and Xbox 360. Background is that the PS3-Version became substantially later finished only than the other versions, so that the developer team rather concentrates resources on the three other platforms. Future plays in the SmackDown! - Row will give it however naturally also for PlayStation to 3. If some more should change in present planning, experience their it here.

I'm not a Smackdown/Raw fan but I've never seen something like that happen before, especially if they're bringing it out for the PS2 =/

that's a good thing in my opinion there are so many wrestling games on playstation already the PS3 can do without a smackdown game for PS3. microsoft and the xbox are welcome to it.

WTF! There's like 1 well known Wrestling series on Sony platforms...Smackdown vs Raw. I'm surprised such a Sony fanboy seemingly doesn't even known this game is coming out on PS2 AND PSP.

of course i know that there are wrestling games on PS2 and psp and there are loads of wrestling games out on PS2 even though i don't have any wrestling games you can't own a PS2 and not know that there are wrestling games for the PS2.
