Back on topic, I have seen, but not played Gears of War and it quite clearly at least looks fantastic. So unless Sony has secretly been making the PS3 in virtual reality, then they can't really say that next gen starts with PS3.
Order of Amount of Bollo*ks talked by console makers(1st being least amount told):
3rd Sony: Ken Kutaragi makes SO MANY promises its unreal!
2nd Microsoft: A close 2nd. They do try to deliver what they said hard.
1st Nintendo: They promised a revolution and got one. But its close. If Miyamoto wasn't there, they would drop to second.

sony and nintendo products don't die miserably on you all the time.

Well that wrong. For me at least. My first PS2 worked fine for about 1 year and a bit. Then It wouldn't play DVD's, until it stopped playing everything expect Austin Powers films(
). My Gamecube has been used a little less, but thats been fine for 4 years now. And I almost broke the laser on it. Don't know about Xbox. Only bought it last year and hardly use it(lack of games and 2nd controller for it

i got 5 years out of my PS2 before it started to die it refused to play PS1 games and my action replay cheat disc and it would wreck my dvds i eventually tossed it in the bin and got a slim PS2.

my xbox is still running fine after 5 years and i use it practicley every week, although it does take a few attempts to read the disc sometimes.

ive had mine for best part of 5 years and only thing that goes wrong occasionally is the drive sometimes doesnt open fully, u need to give it a bit of a helping hand, but even still that only happens like once every 2 weeks or summit and its no big deal. The games still play good as new

I'm currently playing:
my 2nd PS2 one year ago was being very buggy, so i sprayed WD-40 in there ololol, and the disc tray wouldnt work for 2 days... it eventually did... and it worked again....for a further 2 weeks... - so i kept it on a shelf on top of my wardrobe for 6 months... - then at a random time, my bro was playing on our slimline... so i got the old one, set it up in my room and it works... - only if you leave it on its side... if its laid down, you can hear serious grinding and the discs wont spin
