Well lets see. I'm messing around with Emerald version at the moment (on me emulator of course

), so its all kinda come back to me. There is no such thing as a perfect team, but just make sure you have an equal balance of types. Know your type strength/weaknesses off by heart (like water is good against fire, psychic is good against fighting, electric is bad against ground etc), and use that to try and construct as well rounded team as possible. Also, make sure that you level them all up as equally as possible. If you go mad on your favourite fire type and make him twice as strong as all the others, what happens when you battle in the water gym? Try to have at least one pokemon in the team for each exploitable weakness. And get used to fast switching between them when you go up against trainers with different types

Try to branch out a bit, focusing on the legendary birds means that your team is very flying-type dependant. What if you come across a very good electric type? Your party would pretty much be stuffed. Also, mixed type pokemon wouldnt hurt- if they learn both types of moves then you end up with one pokemon strong against many more types. This is a double edge sword though, because another type means another weakness- make up for it elsewhere in the team. Psychic pokemon are good though, nice to see you have one there. Only have one legendary bird, two max, to make up for types not included in the party. For example, if you already had a pretty decent electric type, dont put in Zapdos just cos he's a legendary

hi! We are in Saffron city and we are trying to get into Silph Co. office building. A few of the cheat sites said the guard would be sleeping, but he isn't, he says, "I'm a security guard, suspicius kids I don't allow in". What are we supposed to do to get into the building?
any help would be appreciated, we are new at this game.
thanks

Hmmm. Not bad but a decent dark type will decimate your team and a water/electric type will finish off your Ho-Oh.
My original team is as follows(Elite four)
Venusaur
Alakazam/Jynx
Zapdos
Arcanine
Machamp/Primeape
Dugtrio/Golem/Gyarados
