Yea, FF7 definitely. Revamp the graphics and the engine, but leave the storyline untouched. Fantastic game that would be

Unfortunately for us, most remakes turn out to be steaming piles of $hit..altered beast, anyone?
Anyway, might as well add a few.
monkey island 1+2.either in 3d, like escape, or cartoony 2d, like curse.
any further broken sword games should be made 2d like the originals.point and click doesn't really work in 3d.
grim fandango( a sequel at least!)
all ff's before 7, with decent graphics and cutscenes etc.
choplifter(obsure title, but would work in 3d)
ff 7(natch)
alex the kidd( 3d graphics, gotta keep the quality music tho'!)

Did you ever see that homo-erotic flash toon about Altered Beast? Most disturbing...

I've thought about this quite alot over the years and even got to the point of learning Blitz basic to give it a go myself. I eventually had a go at programming a remake of Firefly (ZX Spectrum Shoot-Em-Up by Jonathon Smith). I'm sure I'll finish it one day but it's not easy to find the time.
For anyone that's interested, some fantastic free retro remakes can be found at http://retrospec.sgn.net/ these guys are legends in the remake department.

Speaking of retro, I'm remaking a kirby game in flash at the moment. Well, sort of at the moment. As soon as I've finished my first game...

I dont think this was a popular game but.. i loved dino crisis 2 for Psone ( 2000 ) although they did make a third one for the xbox ( i dont have one) but i dont think the 3rd one is as good. Really its only the graphics that need improving, to say when it came out i thought it was brilliant and is personally my favourite game ever as it was also the 1st game I got for my Psone. anyway its a different idea and is what i would like to see.
