Please HELP! Fairly new to the game and have a few simple questions!

I always run out of lockpicks and always have to leave my current quest to find more to progress. So I now find myself on a neverending lockpick quest and its really frustrating!
Please can someone guide my to a location where you can buy them cheap.
Also, I have know idea how to learn new magic spells.
Do I need to buy magic weapons or potions and if so where and how.
Ive also heard about a university or something to learn new magic.
Where is this university on the map?
Any information is welcome

join the theives guild, get locked up for stealing and they'll contact you

you can buy them at shops or from folks in the mages guild

it's a lot cheaper to raid forts and ruins and caves full of bandits and brigands, you can buy them at certain shops if you've the $$. Also, make your own potions. just collect stuff in the wild and grab any food items you can. It's using the Alchemy skill and its invaluable. make 1000's of them and you'll be a master potion dude making the best potions around.

it's in Imperial city, outside the wall but you cant join till you do all the mages guild quests

go buy the guide, this is one game that you really need it to get the most from the game

your lockpick problems are solved get to level 10 and do the deadra shrine noctornal quest its pretty simple and you will get a skeleton key . it makes lockpicking easy because they never break

if your poor at lockpicking aswel try and find a spell that will open doors for you. Ive got one that will open all doors up to hard difficulty

...there's also a stone or shrine of some sort, when you activate it, it gives you a power called "warden key". Like special powers before you can only use it once a day, but you can cast it on any lock up to "hard" and it pops it right open.
