This isnt another thread asking for ranks back, but if i remember rightly, they were abolished and an idea to reward GT as a whole not just the forum users was favoured.

Since then, nothing seems to have been done.

Also with the lack of forum members and the constant whinging on the forums probably putting off new ones, i propose some sort of most helpful member reward (gift voucher? whatever) every month or 2 handed out voted for by the vets

Will hopefully keep the noobs in check then and may encourage new members looking for an answer to a game problem to use the forums (and ultimatly, the site) therefore bring the origal purpose of the forums back as they dont seem to be very game based atm imo aside from the usual fm threads thers usually all about sport, music or ps3 vs 360

just a suggestion

Seems a good idea but I wouldn't like the idea of giving someone my address just so they could send me gift vouchers

well my reasoning was, as vets have an assumed sense of responsibility being vets, they should be excluded as thats like GT winning his own award.

But since the vets are regular forum users, and have to keep tabs on whos being a naughty child (kind of like virtual santas) then they will have a pretty good idea of who the regular helpful members and contributors are.

yeah. but n00bs and new members would get cut off 'cos they're not well known.

but its a chance for them to get known

It offers them incentive to help solve other peoples problems, not just post there own, not to bicker and establish a positive reputation for themselves within the community

If a new member is posting a lot helping people out and actively participating in the forums then they will get noticed. We were all new once, look at us now

Only problem i can see is major contributors in fm threads may be overlooked by vets

I'm all for having a sort of "Member of the Month" competition, so long as it is voted for by Gamestracker and Veterans. Allowing members to vote others simple wouldn't work.

yeh thats why i said to be voted by vets and GT if needed.

Others would simply vote for friends/create accounts and vote for themselves etc and cheat

Good idea.

And like you say hopefully, it'll keep everyone in check too as well as being a bit of fun.
