Manufacturers Description
Train spotters rejoice! Microsoft has continued to expand on its simulator series by temporarily leaving the field of aviation and entering the world of rail networks. This is Microsoft Train Simulator PC.

Developed exclusively for PC, Train Simulator is a comprehensive experience, far superior to the Railroad Tycoon series. Microsoft's huge experience with the PC format has allowed them to create highly detailed and realistic trains models that also feature surprisingly accurate mechanics. The environments are typical to any railroad network, but are stunning nevertheless.

There are nine locomotives available to drive, that consist of steam, diesel and electric varieties and include the Orient Express and the Flying Scotsman. You are able to drive these vehicles across literally hundreds of miles of authentic terrain, including some landmark locations in the States, Austria and Japan.

Many of the game's missions entail the driver of the train racing against time to get from one destination to another. But weather conditions such as snow, rain, and even the time of day can cause problems. Whether you're the driver, engineer or the passenger, all the action can be viewed from several different angles, allowing you to appreciate the given surroundings. And while you may think driving a train is a case of stop-and-go, you must get to grips with steam systems, locomotive systems, and throttles and regulators.

Microsoft Train Simulator PC is a game that can help children to realise their fantasies as a train driver. But it is also complex enough to appeal to and challenge the most ardent railway aficionado.
