Well I never expected to get it, but I did and was mostly impressed! Although not as good as the other Devil May Cry games or God Of War (a similar game) its still a good game and worth the huge amount of money I spent on it (a fiver lol). In the game you can play as either the original character Dante or a new character Lucia (sepearte disks for each). The game basically involves making your way through levels with not very much description and on most levels fight a boss on the end of it, the game is very easy though, and thats not always a good thing.

Graphics 7/10
Although this isn't the lowest quality graphics I've ever seen, it certainly could have done with some touching up. Most of the game isn't very detailed leaving everything with a very dull feel, especially as the whole game is mostly in darkness. This doesn't really make much difference to the gameplay but, well, it could have been better. Camera angles are just generally annoying, a cinematic view is used which follows your character and you have no control whatsoever over it, you can imagine how annoying this is when you are fighting a boss then suddenly the camera zooms out. When using a sword the blur effect left behind doesn't really do any favours, well really it doesn't do anything bad either, in fact, it doesn't do anything!
Another thing, smaller enemies have no real shape at all, something that desperately needs improving.

Gameplay 6/10
Like I mentioned earlier, although the game is indeed quite good, it is poor compared to games like God Of War. I mean, whats the point of having a sword and a shotgun and a rocket launcher?! The game has no real indication as to what year it is set (although modern looking cities drop a hint) so shouldn't it really be justy melee weapons or just guns? Devil trigger takes too long to fill up, sure it is really a power boost and you don't really expect to be able to use it instantly but during boss levels you really need it, you don't have the five minutes the game expects you to wait, whilst shooting the boss with a shotgun which is mostly useless against them, especially for the skeleton guy with the two wolves. The gore factor is missing too, you cut an enemy with a sword and you see a tiny cloud od red, but no after effects, no special ways of killing enemies.
And one last thing, awkward puzzles! How I hate those things, sure I don't mind a puzzle that involves doing something special but timer puzzles are just damn annoying. There's this one level where you must break three (heavily armoured) vases then make it into the next room to collect some sort of orb. The orb is surrounded by a shield whilst any vases are still standing, and the vases will be re-spawned about 30 seconds after it is smashed, not really enough time to destroy the other two as well as make it into the next room. There is no way to pull out of a sword swing either which is a complete pain when you get a dodgy shot at a target.

Replay Factor 4/10
Its satisfying to play and complete each level, but there is nothing in the game that I will come back to later, the unlockables in the game are so pointless I probably won't even bother.

Voicing/Soundtrack 4/10
Well there's basically no voicing at all (when playing as Dante anyway). Cutscenes will usually involve a big roaring boss and your character showing a shocked expression. Soundtrack is mostly unnoticable, in fact as I type this I remember hardly any soundtrack, and if it was good then I'd remember it, put it that way...

Worth It?
Definitely a waste if you payed £40 for it on its release date, but for a fiver second hand, its not bad at all!
