This is a very good game for the type of game it is because its basicly like having the whole Roman army and kingdom in your living room / bedroom / where ever you keep your PC.

The Graphics in this game are absolutely outstanding for how small the characters are and besides the fact that there feet go into points at the end the graphics are actually very very good, the surrounding and the land are very graphically amazing. The buliding and the campaign map are also very very good.

The Campaign Mode has you battle as one of the 4 families of Rome and see you trying to take at least 50 prices (settlements) of Europe, North Arfica and West Asia. This is achieved by building up massive armies to take over enemy settelments, but in this game unlike others of this type a win doesn't mean that you have the biggest army tactics are a massive part of winning a battle. You may decide to flank the enemy to try and in-circle the enemy and drive fear into there hearts or you could try and pick them off from distance as they march towards you with your bowmen, catapultes and spearmen then when you see a weakness in the enemies army charge and attack out from this weakness. And of course you could go in all guns blazing or in this case swords blazings. Diplomacy, now you don't often see that as an important factor in game, but thats right gamers you can now negotiate with the enemy so that you don't have to loose a big part of an army in a pointless battle, and you can also, and I love this by the way, BUY OFF THE ENEMY I mean how awesome is that you can actually pay someone to leave you alone.

The multiplayer online mode is also very good it sees you fighting people in bloody yet friendly battles all over the world. And you can also play Historic Battles in Rome Total War and despite the fact of being very very hard are still worth the challange. The cumstom battles are also a very good addition to the multiple mode that you can go to in this game this see's you pick from all the faction in the game to get up to an 8 way battle and you can customies the soldiers in your team and get this you can customise the enemies team as well that means you can make them as crap as you want and as good as you want, so you can have an easy battle to get up your confidence or you can put you skill to the ultimate test and have the hardest battle possible.

I have heared this game being compared with the Battle For Middle Earth ( B F M E ) series but that is simply untrue for example the army size in the two games couldn't be further apart, in one battalion in B F M E you get up to 10 people in one battalion in Rome Total War you can get UP TO 120 soldiers and in Rome Total War you don't have to worry about building a bigger army during the battle like in B F M E you just build up a big enough army with a good general to squash the enemy ( But remember numbers aren't everything in this game, tactics my friend, tactics )

So there you have it ladies and gentalmen the biggest war in your living room / bedroom / whereever you keep you PC. It is sweet the blood curdeling, head chopping, eye poppin' action is unmatchable in any game of this kind and you've all got to go out there and buy it right now ( try to get the Gold Edition ;) ).

HINT:I have said this throughout the review but I will say it again none the less NUMBERS ARE NOT AS IMPORTANT AS TACTICES, USE THE TACTICES LUKE USE THE TACTICES!!!
