This is not just your ordinary car game, on no siree. If you thought that you were buying this game for smooth tactical racing in which you dodged other cars, not crashing into them in a traffic free circuit in order to come first you were wrong. Crashing is the actual soul of this game, you get points depending on how big and effective your crash was in some games. In fact, Burnout Revenge is about taking any obstacles out of your way in order to achieve your chosen objective be that winning a race, removing other cars for a race or causing the largest crash possible with the most expensive damages. This really is something different and man how I like it, what a way to let out your road rage!

The graphics in this game are superb, they really catch the cars just right, and the crash scenes are devastating, the power of the explosions and the damage to the cars is captured really well, especially when it is being shoed in slow motion. I commend the graphics designers of this game, great job guys!

The sound is good during this game with good sound effects during races and solid clear commentary and instructions, sound definitely doesn’t bring the game down at all. The game has an awesome soundtrack.

This game kept me playing for ages; it really is a class act. It provides a different perspective on driving simulations completely. You start off as newbie driver, rated harmless, but as you get into more crashes and wreck more cars causing more and more damage your rep increases and increases, from harmless, to unsafe, to dangerous and on and on and on etc. It does have a long life span. The fact that it is not continuous races provides some enjoyment; there is definitely more than one game mode within this game.
For instance there is preview mode where you get to test out a hot new track or the latest car, there is crash mode where you cause a crash on a dual carriage way and you have to cause as much damage costs as possible while still managing to crash your target car as well as another crash mode where you do continuous laps crashing into as many cars, in the midst of traffic, as you can and of course there is the much familiar race mode where you have to beat off numerous cars to win first place, but beware, there’s a twist…you get points for causing your opponents to crash, to which there is another twist…(don’t worry I’ll stop the twist thing soon enough) you’re probably wondering why the game is called Burnout: R-e-v-e-n-g-e, it’s simple really, although you can cause other cars to crash it is mutual, if a car causes you to crash then it becomes your revenge rival. This means that if you cause him to crash you get bonus points, another welcome and improved feature to previous versions. Although there are many modes in this game they do not come to you automatically, you do not get to try out the hot track or the brand new vehicle without doing something in return, you have to earn it by completing other modes. Each mode you pay you get a rating for based on your performances, these range from, ok 1 star-good 2 star- great 3 star- awesome 4 star and perfect 5 star, you also get medals (bronze, silver, gold) Some mode require gold medals in all others before they are unlocked so you can only 100% complete the game if you get gold medals and perfects on each mode, greatly increasing the enjoyment, the challenge and the lifespan all in one go, a good feature!
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this game and recommend it as a must buy for anyone who enjoys car games to be honest.

8 or 9/10 for me ^_^
