Introduction: This game is a lovely break from the much favoured RPG’s and your First Person Shooters, which is complemented with beautiful and fresh environments. Being labelled an RPG, I personally did not think that this was your typical RPG, I found this more of an adventure/platformer game with a hint of RPG element to it.
About the game: You play as Kameo, an elven girl gifted with the elemental warriors which are the key to this game. You must battle through large scale battles to intense boss battles to achieve your goal, which is to defeat your corrupt sister and the much feared Troll king, Thorn.
About the Gameplay: The amount of variety that these elemental warriors provide for the game is amazing and really keeps the game fresh. There is the typical “protect and save” missions, but fortunately the game does not rely too heavily on these. The game gives you two sides to this as well, from battling out in the open warfare field to closing down the Thorns grunts and interesting Boss Battles. This game does have a certain degree of the much wanted ‘Free-Roam’ aspect to this as you are able to visit other locations through the “Badlands” which is your access to all the areas of the game.
The elemental warriors: Throughout this game you will acquire elemental sprites which are hot keyed through the “Wotnot Book” which acts as your journal or PDA. You become familiar with the main warriors at the very beginning of the game, but then Kameo loses them and you must regain them and seven others totalling ten warriors in all. Each of these warriors brings you a new aspect to the game. The warriors are;
1. Pummel Weed: As the name suggests this is your grass/plant type creature. This is your most basic brawn of the game and the first Sprite that you acquire, using boxing style moves he can also hide underground to finish the trolls off.

2. Rubble: Again as the name suggests that this is a rock type creature. He can pick trolls off at a distance with his rocks that always return or just simply self destruct and send his rocks flying in all directions to stun or hurt multiple enemies.

3. Ash: This is the fiery dragon creature of the gang and can light fires or bombs.

4. Deep Blue: This is your aquatic creature which allows you to access underwater missions, which gives a good bit of variety to the typical land levels.

5. Major Ruin: Another one of the original three that you are given. This is again another rock type creature, who can also roll himself into a ball and speed up ramps and of course…cause a bit of road kill along the way.

6. 40 Below: This a minor element that you are unlikely to use unless needed, this is one of the two ice creatures that are in this game, but he does still bring a new concept to the game.

7. Snare: This is another plant type creature that uses his mouth to either grab and throw the trolls or just bite them. Again this is one that you may not use unless needed, but again still brings a good break from the rest.

8. Chilla: He is the second of the two ice creatures and the last one of the original three that you are quite likely to use more often than others. He uses ice spears kill his foes from long distance or can grab trolls and throw them into fires, each other or off of a cliff. His last attack is an icy based ground attack were stalactites drop to the ground. In all a useful warrior.

9. Flex: This water based creature is used very little, he can grapple onto objects and pull himself up to them.

10. Thermite: Being the last one that you acquire, he is the strongest of all the warriors, using fire based attacks he can shoot lava bombs at his enemies and more than often kill them instantly with a direct blast. He can also use his “firecracker” ability in which the mini fire bombs stick to the enemy and explode consecutively and eventually throws them into the air. By far the most useful warrior out of the ten.

Controls: The controls are very simple but very effective, it uses the Left and right triggers to attack which are displayed at the bottom of the screen. All in all a very useful combat concept. To change between the warriors and Kameo you can hotkey up to three warriors at a time using the X,Y and B buttons, with Kameo being assigned to the A button.

Overall: A brilliant game with a good concept and challenging environments, along with beautiful large scale battles and good variety to the Gameplay. Visually this is a great game and I found nothing to fault this game by thus the 9 out of 10 score.
