How cheap is this game now?! I got it for £10 from game when it was the deal of the week. Ok, first things first, its not as bad as most of the reviews say it is. It can be very fun with mates, and fun but not as much fun single player. To get started, the game is basically this TV show and the director/producer guy wants some people to fight in cars while doing other objectives on the show. The winner gets what they want or lots of money or something like that. The 'toons' you control dont seem to die. You can be:
Sinder (annoying person kicked out of hell)
Violet (violent girl)
Flemming (nerdy boy)
BT Bruno (builder person)
Fowl Mouth (old fashioned gangster like duck)
Dominique (loves fighting)
There are also the special boss characters you can unlock: T-Wrecks, Brian the brain, Whack Angus and Count Earl.
Sinder drives a funny car, flemming drives a hovercraft, BT Bruno drives a digger like construction vehicle, Fowl mouth drives an old fashioned getaway style car, dominique drives a pink open top car, t-wrecks drives a monster truck, Count earl drives the batmobile, whack angus drives a stagecoach and brian drives a robot tank. Each character has their own normal basic style rubbish weapon, as well as their own special. These can be wood chippers, dynamite crossbows, shrink rays, mortat launchers or huge jackhammers, and more. Each car drives slightly differently as well, and each character has a host of witty taunts and sayings.
The three modes in cell damage are smack attack, flag rally and gate relay. Smack attack is getting the most number of kills, flag rally you collect flags that have legs and run away and return them to a drop off point, and gate relay is basically racing. You can kill you enemies in all of them though.
There are loads of different types of weapons, which are foundin boxes on the track. There are springs, boxing gloves, axes, chainsaws amongst others. There's about 20+ weapons overall.
There are twelve places to do battle(this doesnt seem to much, but it doesnt make much of a diference.). Four location, three arenas per location. There's the desert, space, transylvania and the jungle. Whack angus is the leader of the desert, brians the leader of the space etc. Each arena can be used to do all three game modes, and has secret passageways and rooms and trap and stuff, all to add to the fray. Some have giant weights to fall on you, some have a hurracane whipping up and causing chaos. Each arena is medium sized.
The action is not too hard, unless you change the difficulty. After you have done every type of mode on every arena, you win a special ending movie for that character, and their special weapon becomes availble. I only did this for one character(sinder), becaus it took ages and i couldnt be bothered to do it for others. The game just isnt interesting enough to spend ages on it, and having your special weapon available to everyone just kinda doesnt make it special anymore. The game can get boring single player, and you can kinda tell it was made for multiplayer.
The graphics are totally cell shaded cartoon style, which looks good. The sound is above average, with taunts and satisfying smacking and pow! sounds.
The game is too short really, i meen your fed up of the single player after about four days. The multiplayer can be a blast though. Get this game only with multiplayer in mind, and only if you can get it for a fiver. Average game, maybe for ages 10-13.
