Although i think this game would have been much better if given a complete remake like the first resident evil in the series, it still made me jump at times making this an instant gamecube classic. Even if your not a resident evil nut like me, its still worth a look. Sure the graphics are a little dated, but its more about strategy and problem solving than just looking good. I myself am more into gameplay than just good graphics and resident evil 2 provided this for me and still does from the day i bought it.

Although a port from the playstion version, it kept its eerie atmosphere and chilling ambience that make the resident evil series what it is. It was great to see old enemies again (then blow them away with the greade launcher - come on! You know you have to).

As mentioned above, i would have loved to see this game as a remake, with extra puzzles and new areas to explore and also extra unlockable modes (maybe a deathmatch mode with 2 or more players linking up their gamecubes and going one on one with each other). Something like this would have kept me busy for months, whereas i completed this port in a couple of days.

Its minor faults put aside, i would recommend this game for any veteran or rookie resident evil players who are looking for that zombie shooting, brain splattering cure for their violent tendencies.
