Well how is best to describe a game like Oblivion? It is hard because if i was to list every really good feature this review would be of biblical proportions.

To start with this game is huge. i mean really huge. This is one of those games where you need to stock up on the food, ciggies and beer, lock your door and wave goodbye to your social life for a reeeeeaaaalllllyyyyy long time. Girlfriend? forget it by the time you have milked this baby for all shes worth, you will have grown apart.

It has every aspect a cracking RPG should have and then some. Dont like the way that passing NPC looked at you? take them out. Dont have enough money to buy that potion? Take it anyway. dont want to waste your hard earned cash on potion ingredients? Go out and pick your own. you really can do pretty much anything.

A great thing about Oblivion is that you always feel you have a challenge on your hands. as in the real world, life aint easy. as you level up so do the creatures around you, you start off fighting mudcrabs and rats but in a few levels time you are fighting wolves, bours, bears, minotours, ogres, trolls, goblins, bandits, vampires and the like. Each of which all change style and apperance as you level up so that they are still a challenge for you. E.g about level 3ish you will just be fighting a normal goblin. Level up a few times and suddenly that goblin is replaced by a goblin beserker. A few more levels and its a goblin warlord. anyway you get the point.

Another thing is the way the game makes you appreciate the money. you aint gonna be going around spending your money like the England footy teams wifes on a handbag and shoes binge. Oh no you worked hard to get that cash and you are gonna spend it wisely. As you get further into the game the money starts coming in larger amounts so you dont have to save so hard. some people may argue that its annoying having to clear out a whole dungeon to get 500 gold peices, but i reckon it makes you apprciate money like in the real world. And that is what this game is all about. Dragging you kicking and screaming into another world.

The amount of quests and dungeons is staggering i have been playing it for 176 hours and i have probaby only done 10% of all of them. Each one is different and so you never feel like the game is going stale on you. some off them are quite hard others are really fun. my personal fave is the dark brotherhood quest (basicly an assasins guild)where there are 5 quests in a house believing they are there to search for a chest full of gold. you are to turn up pretending to be another one of these imbeciles and kill them off one by one without them realising you are the murderer. As you kill eachone the others begin to point the finger at each other.... and if you play your cards right you wont have to do the dirty work for yourself cause they will do it for you!

you will never get bored there are over 100 dungeons to freely explore at your leasure, mages guild quests, fighters guild quests, dark brotherhood quests, deadric quests, master trainer quests, the main quest, vampire hunting, hunting in general, the areana to either gamble in or fight in, theives guild quests, then free form theiving where you can sell your goods to a fence, misc quests and free form quests and you know what? i have probably not even scratched the surface but i am going to have to cut this reveiw here.... i have been in this world for far to long so it is time to go back to the real world of Cyrodil... is that the real one or not? oh well!
