King Kong is a fairly enjoyable game; no more, no less. There are a few points that become repetetive; kill the monsters, burn the bush, find the lever, repeat. However, other parts make up for this as there are a fair few brilliant parts; particuarly when you are allowed to be Kong. The graphics are possibly not the standard you might expect from the 360, but are overall pretty good. Kong in particular looks awesome.
There are some parts that work well in the game; the ability to call allies to throw you weapons is a nice feature and adds to the tactical nature of the game, that kind of exists in many levels in the background. Other examples of this are methods like using bait to lure enemies into areas you can set fire to.

It's worth playing, but won't change your life.
