I must say that this title was supposed to be what we were waiting for, a new game that runs just as smoothly as call of duty 2, but with mechs. But oh no that is not what we have been given. This game has great mech visuals, but that alone is going to make the gameplay any good. The fact of the matter is the game is god awfully boring and slow offline and when you go online you'll be most likly pulverized by experienced players. The game online is not about who is the better player but who has the best mech, the reason for this is because unless your complety up close and in the mechs face it is almost impossible to hit an enemy from the distance with rockets and such, the reason for this is that most of these take so long to reach to enemy mech that it has already moved off your screen.
Also no other item besides heat seekeing missiles has any type of guidence at all ,( think of mech assault 2 most weapons had at least a small amount of guidence so every body would be able to hit people) So as i was saying if u have guided rockets you win, if you dont you loose. On top of this the way the game works is if you hit somone in the side you most likly wont hurt them at all, for you to do any kind of damage you have to hit them in the cockpit, then if u get hit in the cockpit directly with say 3 anti hound rockets you will die, even though you had just hit the enemy say with 20 anti hound rockets on the side he got a lucky shot in so you loose.
IN my opinion you will either loves this game or despise it, if your one for fast smooth gameplay that relies on skill you will hate this game to the bitter end.
If you like mindless running in circles for 10 minutes around the enemy mech untill one of you manages to hit and kill the other than you will like this game.
