Grand theft auto liberty city stories is not at all a bad game in any form, let me just get that straight before I go on. But to be honest I think rockstar have really let themselves down with this effort. Yes, of course I know its simply a psp addaption, but i definatley think not enough, if anything, has been added to the playstation 2 version of this game.

Thise game is set 3 years before the events of GTA3 in 1998. Before the inter-island tunnels have been compleated, and the ferry system is being threatened and all the workers are on strike (GTA 3 shows their efforts are futile) :)

For one thing they have compleatly REMOVED multiplayer from this game, I mean the least they could have done was expanded it! Another point is that it seams to be contracting the series with poor graphics and that it seems to run on the vice city, GTA3 engine in which you cannot climb, super-sprint or swim, instead of the san andreas engine

Another thing I noticed was that the missions are alot shorter than in any of the previous games, and alot simpler.

I was also dissapointed by the range of cars, and peds, there is a much smaller selection here, whiich was dissipointing given the massivly fantastic range in Grand Theft auto San Andreas.
On the subject of vehicles, there are no flyable helicopters or aircraft. GRRR!

The trains are now also revamped, for one thing it now says the name of the station, and the next one on the line. The chinatown station station is now called korawski station.

A good thing however is that radio, once again, the talk radio is extreemly funny, but this time around its not just lazlo, theres some computer geeks, a romatic, and also a mad man doing a show called "heartland values" which after a while to be honest does get irritating since it seems not to be sychronized, and the radio randomly selects what show, what song, and how long in it will be when you get in your car, I mean, I was listenin to an advert on "the mainframe" a movie about a group of college students who take L.S.D and descover "the truth" about computers, you will hear things such as "Quick insert your hard disk into my drive!" "I cant! my hard disk crashed!" and "OH NO! YOUR FACE IS A BIG PIXEL!" funny i know, but when i got out of the car, collected some cash from a ped I just run down, and got back in, it was in the middle of heartland values with nurse Bob.
Anyhoo, excusing that, there are two new radio stations, "radio del mundo" an indian station playing indian music, (bangra) which to be honest I quite liek.
Some songs I actually recognize from somewhere...
Also the dj is incredebly funny, an example would be when he says...(pranjit has called in with a message of hope, he hopes people could loose a bit of weight, as you are ruining the suspension in his cab!"
Another new station is "the liberty jam" playing non stop rap crap... Lucky us eh...

On another topic, the hidden packages are now in the shape of somebody doing the rock on finger sign oddly, and are now of course differently but unfortunatly more easily positioned throughout the game.

Over all I would say this IS a good game, but I still believe it should have stayed on the playstation portable.
a scraped at best 7/10 allthough it only gets that for the price, (RRP being £19.99)
Allthough personally I took advantage of gamestracker fantastic price comparison system and got it from blah for a mere £14.98

If your into grand theft auto this is definatley worth a buy evan if only for something to compleate or if your sick of living in an only quite violent world and you want some fresh virtual blood to shead.
