WWE Smackdow vs. Raw 2007 makes it's debut on the XBOX 360 with this exclusive game.

Note: This review is of a demo that can be found on the XBOX Live Marketplace. This means anything mentioned in this review may be changed and new things could be added in.

Wrestling may not be much of a hit in Britain due to the late times the programmes are on, but over in the US it is one of the most loved sports that is played without a ball of any shape. But the wrestling games have turned out to be a big success. Maybe bigger than big, because they are so fun and easy to use but has WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 gone too far to imrpove or kept it nice and simple?

I played as Triple H (HHH) and Kane in the RAW Arena. The main problem with this game is that, the finisher's are either too hard to create or far too easy. This will spoil the online mode as people who want to play as some of their favourite characters will be annoyed with the way people "cheat" to win.

The game's controls are hard to grasp and new players of wrestling games will not like the controls one bit. There are two reversal buttons which you will get mised up on and then there's one real attack move. You also have to combine quite a lot which shouldn't happen in games. With controls getting more confusing in wrestling games, it may be simpler to go back to the simple old ways of two buttons and directional pad.

Some of the moves people will recognise from actual wrestling but some of them aren't too good and it can be quite repetetive.

Hopefully, single player and multiplayer will be good. Usually season mode is packed full of games which takes ages to complete and online and multiplayer modes are always good as you can beat friends.

The graphics aren't superb but they are nowhere near other big titles. If you were to compare the in-game character to the character in real life then there wouldn't be much of a difference.

The gameplay is one of the slowest you'll see because they take a lot longer than they used to do to pick them up, grab weapons, get back into the ring etc.

The crowd sounds are pretty lame but some of the crowd's banners are pretty amusing (e.g. The Person Behind Me Can't See).

Overall for WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 on the XBOX 360:

Graphics: 8 - Pretty impressive but not amazing compared to games like The Elder Scrolls IV: Obilivion and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter.
Gameplay: 6 - The game is really slow and controls are hard to grasp.
Lifespan: N/A - I would expect it would be good with all lthe modes including online but I think people will get bored of it quickly.
Online/Multiplayer: N/A - Sport games are usually best online excluding shooters but I wonder if this will be.
Single Player: N/A - Most wrestling games usually have a good single player. I wonder if this lives up to its expectations.
Sound: 5 - Crowd sounds are pretty boring as it's the same thing over again. Some chants would be nice.

Overall: 6 - Wrestling hasn't kicked off on the XBOX 360 with Rumble Roses Double X failing to impress and WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 fails to impress me though if they improve the game, it could be a big hit.

Wrestling may be fake, but this game makes it look more realistic than ever. Wrestling fans will enjoy thegame but otherwise, it is a must avoid.
