Introduction:
the legendary mario kart series has been one of the best games for the last 10 years and anyone that has played mario kart before, will want to play this at all costs but how has it faired with the newest next generation consoles evolution
Strengths:
lots of unlockables such as karts, characters and tracks.
2 players on 1 cart means you could play as 2 human players.
1 player will control the driving i.e turns super slides, turbo boosts and the other player will control all the weapons, turbo boosts, punching players off the track and you can switch at any time during the race.
this is definately one of the best multiplayer games of any console generation.
you can play 2 player cup races and because of the innovative weapons available, the most skilled player won't neccessarily win all the races, as anything can happen.
the most fun you can have from a racing game, you will laugh and celebrate in victory and cry and swear in defeat.
if you always want to improve your best times, you will always find you can improve, no matter how good you think you are, so the single player modes life will be extended.
you can play via LAN on www.warppipe.co.uk meaning you can play the game on the internet
Weaknesses:
the one player mode is quite short and should be completed within a week of gaming.
disappointed nintendo haven't included more than 2 players competing for the cup races but you can play single player races against up to 4 players.
the 2 players on 1 kart doesn't seem to be as innovative as it could of been.
the battle mode tracks seems to have been simplified for the worse but you can have hectic fun against all your mates because of the small arenas.
Conclusion:
the mario kart series has slightly evolved but not to the extent many gamers were hoping for.
if you have a few mates who regularily play on your gamecube, you will always have great fun for as long as the gamecube is around.
if your the kind of person that wants to be the best, you'll play this for ages and multiplayer mode will keep you glued to your televisions forever.
