Chitty Chitty Bang Bang this ain't. The dark and brooding atmosphere and hard rockin' sound track are what make this often over rated game. I can't fault the use of Rolling Stones "Paint it Black" for the scrolling titles but the lasting effect amounts to much the same as putting go faster stripes on a Fiat Panda. The single player "story" mode bored me more than a little and the prospect of unlocking new characters and cars just wasn't enough to keep my revs up.
In multiplayer you are invited to smack rockets at each other until your car resembles steel Swiss cheese but after a few rounds i felt like i was stuck behind a Sunday driver doing 20 on the Autobahn. The game is so similar in terms of feel and gameplay to the multipatform classic Carmageddon but lacks it's sense of fun and long-term playabiltity. Sorry TMB, you're fit for the crusher.
