It is a typical pokemon game at first glance but the fact that you are able to catch just about every pokemon in the game with very little trading is actually a huge deal. It can be very difficult at times to find someone willing to catch a pokemon for you that you can't catch in your version, not to mention that they usually want one that they can't catch in their version. Which means both of you must now search for just the right pokemon that the other one wants. In addition there are several rare and ancient pokemon that you can only catch one of thus no one will want to give you theirs. Thus version of the pokemon series lets you catch all of your favorites from every series to create your ideal team and get the most complete version of a pokedex you could ever imagine.
