I'll admit before I start, I have never had the patience to complete any Tomb Raider game in the past, but I was absolutely determined with this one. I did complete it, and this is what I thought of it.
Tomb Raider: Legend certainly lives up to its title, Lara explores the Legend that is King Arthur and the Excalibur. There are some great puzzles to work out and for the keen explorer in you there are bronze, silver and gold treasures dotted around throughout the game for you to find which unlock certain extras like outfits, cinematics, etc.
The game gives more of a personal feel to Lara in it, as we delve into her past in a series of flashbacks. We witness her mothers death in Bolivia (from which the story unravells) and you even get to play as young Lara for a short period of the game.
It's not all on foot either, Lara has the opportunity of riding a kick-ass Ducati motorcycle on a couple of occasions throughout the game. Also some of the outfits she changes into periodically throughout the game are pretty cool (look out for the ripped evening dress look she dons in Japan!)
The only complaint I have is about the controls, Lara is a hard woman to control at times (!) but I think this might have something to do with the fact that it was a PSP I was playing this title on. As far as controls go when it comes to PSP, it can be quite limited. You find to change weapons or use your binoculars it can take a number of arrow presses before you can activate them and it doesn't really help when you're on a crucial part of the game like a boss. Also the brightness of the game isn't too brilliant but it doesn't make the game impossible to play either, it's just one of those things you have to put up with.
All in all this has to be one of the best Lara games I have played, it kept me interested throughout with a brilliant storyline and the extras in it are pretty cool. Very entertaining, if you haven't got it in your collection I strongly recommend you add it!
Enjoy!
