When I first heard about this game, i wasn't too sure if I should buy it or not, seeing as its a third person game, and I dont usually get on with them. However, after seeing a trailer in the cinema I just had to buy it, because it made it look so good, especially saying the graphics on the trailer were in game!

So release date arrived and I purcahsed it, and I tell you what, its one of the best purchased Ive made. I was hooked from the very beginning, with the intuitive control system and 'cover' system, its just great fun to play.

The graphics are just stunning, and when I first played it on my HDTV, i was jsimply blown away, I'd never seen such rich, detailed in game graphics in my life.

One of the best features in this game is the fact that you can start your solo campaign mission alone, but if one of your friends comes online, you can just invite them into your single player game, and co-op is where the fun really starts. You get such a rush from taking out the locusts and wretches working as a team.

Upon completing the single player on the Casual difficulty (with a little help from a stranger who joined my game when I hosted it online), the Insane difficulty is unlocked, and believe me, it is Insane!!!

Now, even after defeating General RAAM at the end of Act 5 on Insane, I still want more! So now, I'm going through the game again on Insane so my friends online can receive their 50 gamerpoints per level (20GP for completing on Hardcore and 30GP for completing it on Insane). Meanwhile I'll get the GP for completing the entire game as the co-ops second main character, Dom Santiago.

Online multiplayer is great fun too, with the range of weapons from the standard pistol to the huge rocket blaster, it's a great laugh, especially using the XBox Live voice communicator. This game is one of those where teamwork is essential. You can't just go running off on your own and hope to kill the enemy, because you will die. If you're with your team, at least if you get shot and are in the DBNO form (Down But Not Out), they can revive you, unless the enemy get to you first, which is when the other fun part comes into play. The executions. There are 3 you can do, simple Shotgun blast to the head, Chainsaw (which is one of the best, most fun & goriest weapons in any game, ever!!) or the classic Curb Stomp (reminds me of the start of American History X!). If you're lucky, and theres no enemy near you, you may be able to revive yourself by pressing the A button to try & get your heart beating again.

Now for my personal favourite weapon (other than the chainsaw). The Torque Bow. Wow, how much fun can weapons be! I tell ya, the longer you hold down shoot, the more change you have of getting the arrow to stick on the enemy. When you hit them in the leg, thats the best part, because their body parts literally shoot up into the air and rain down on everything. Its excellent and you will laugh out loud every time it happens. Oh, its also essential for killing General RAAM on Insane! :)

Overall, this game is simply brilliant, with gameplay to match the very high quality graphics. If you havent got this game already, then you must have something wrong with you, it is simply one of the best games available for any system at the moment, and you are guaranteed to have LOTS of fun. The most memorable moment is the first time you use your chainsaw bayonet weapon, wow, the blood, the sound of the saw, just superb!
