Sonic Mega Collection Gamecube is a celebration of one of the most successful game characters of all time, Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic the Hedgehog was designed and developed by Yuji Naka, director of Sonic Team, in 1990 and launched on the Megadrive in Europe during 1991, selling over 4 million copies. Later that year its sequel, Sonic 2, hit shelves and quickly became a hit, selling 400,000 units in its first five days of availability, earning the status of the top-selling 16-bit video game of all time.
